Checking Accounts

 Palmetto Heritage Bank & Trust has developed a group of attractive deposit products and services designed to fit your personal and business needs. All checking accounts feature an ATM or Debit (Check) card (available upon approval) and direct deposit of social security or payroll. FDIC Deposit Insurance temporarily increased from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor through December 31, 2013.

The Palmetto Heritage Checking Account is designed for individuals of any age or financial position. This account is interest-bearing with no minimum balance requirements or monthly service fees.

The Palmetto Heritage Platinum Account is designed for our customers who are age 50 or older. This account includes special benefits such as free checks, traveler's checks, and other privileges. This account is also interest-bearing.

If you are a customer who has developed a relationship with the bank, you should consider our Palmetto Heritage Prestige Account. It allows you to take advantage of additional bank service and product opportunities such as free checks, traveler's checks, and safe deposit box discounts.

We are also here to serve our local business clients by assisting them with a Commercial Checking Account suited to their financial status and short and long term goals. NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY FDIC INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS

All funds in a “noninterest-bearing transaction account” are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

The term “noninterest-bearing transaction account” includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts (“IOLTAs). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, and money-market deposit accounts.
